About Lizzy McAlpine

With a penchant for introspective indie-folk songs adorned by evocative strings and cosy acoustic guitar, Lizzy McAlpine offers an empathetic take on coming-of-age stories. Born in 1999 in Philadelphia, McAlpine honed her music skills from a young age, performing in an a cappella group and starting to write songs before going on to study at Berklee College of Music. She left school early to pursue music, releasing her debut full-length, Give Me A Minute, in 2020. Her second album, 2022’s five seconds flat, spawned the viral breakthrough hit “ceilings”, a wintry tune that elevates her dusky voice. McAlpine’s profile increased even more thanks to collaborations with Noah Kahan (“Call Your Mom”), FINNEAS (“hate to be lame”) and Niall Horan (“You Could Start A Cult”). Yet the solemn piano ballad “Older”, the title track from her 2024 solo album, reveals that her most wistful moments come from solitude.
