About Juanita Bynum

Juanita Bynum is a household name all throughout the Black community. Born in 1959, the native Chicagoan has become one of the most famous African American television evangelists in history. On top of maintaining a packed conference schedule and authoring numerous inspirational books (including the 2005 best seller The Threshing Floor), she is renowned for an inimitable style of gospel music that brings together her gifts as both balladeer and prophet. Her first record, 1999’s Morning Glory: Volume One Peace, arrived shortly after her now legendary “No More Sheets” sermon struck a deep chord with Christian women yearning to blend their faith with female self-empowerment and spiritual life coaching. Though Bynum’s preaching has remained her primary calling, she has carved out the time to release several more albums. These include 2006’s A Piece of My Passion, one of the most popular gospel albums of the 2000s, and Gospel Goes Classical, an ambitious project that finds the charismatic Bynum teaming up with beloved South African composer and musician Jonathan Butler.
