About Óscar Maydon

Though Mexican corridos singer Óscar Maydon leaped to stardom with the cinematic outlaw tales of “De La Nació” and “Kilos De H,” it’s his nonchalant approach to high-stakes storytelling that sets him apart from his peers. Born in Mexicali in 1999, the singer-songwriter was discovered by Rancho Humilde when he was 20. As he gained buzz in the mercurial realm of narcocorridos, in 2021 Maydon was paired with genre iconoclast Natanael Cano for a string of blockbuster collaborations (including “Porte Exuberante” and “Ninguna Como Ella”) that introduced him to mainstream audiences. His debut album, GXLE <3, arrived the following year, producing the minimalist sierreño hit “Bye.” But it was his sophomore album, DISTORSIÓN, that cemented Maydon's global ambition, convening corridos’ heavy hitters Junior H and Gabito Ballesteros, crossing over with rapper Tyga on “Kim Kardashian,” and even stepping into reggaetón on the scorcher “YW&F.”
