Amen

Ovi
Amen

Ovi may have arrived on the scene singing “Pacas Verdes” alongside regional upstart Natanael Cano, but his debut project skews closer to urbano than corridos. And while the altogether collaborative Amen does include features by a number of Rancho Humilde types, for the most part they’ve adapted to his favored hip-hop environs. He gets faded and impatient with Cano and Junior H on “Pick Up the Phone,” an insistent trap cut laden with booming bass. “Tranki” finds him trading verses with Mexican American rapper Snow Tha Product, while “La Shorty” glides into pop territory with its reggaetón groove.
