DJ Khaled is like the Dana White of rap: He assembles the hottest MCs in a platinum octagon and unleashes them. I Changed a Lot pulls legends like JAY Z, Lil Wayne and Rick Ross, as well as newcomers like Fetty Wap and August Alsina. Future stands to be the breakout star here, stealing scenes on five tracks. The album is stuffed with tear-the-club-up anthems, of course, but Khaled makes good on the title’s promise with nods to dancehall reggae (“My League” featuring Mavado) and bump-’n’-grind R&B (“Hold You Down” and “You Mine”). He closes on a thankful note, letting John Legend testify about brighter days ahead on “Most High.”
