About Steel Banglez
Production mastermind Steel Banglez went from racing to keep up with the trends of UK grime to dictating which sounds would keep the subgenre on the charts. • Banglez learned to make music from an early age. His mother was an Indian classical music teacher, and his older brother taught him how to DJ. • Shortly after a teacher introduced him to the Fruity Loops software, Banglez began producing music and collaborated on his earliest record with grime legend—and neighbour—D Double E. • Firearms charges sent Banglez to prison at 17. During his three-year incarceration, he met rappers Fix Dot’m and Yung Meth. After his release, he produced a mixtape for the MCs titled A Fix of Meth. • Banglez later discovered emerging rapper MIST. After collaborating on a number of records, he produced the artist’s breakthrough 2016 EP M I S to the T. • In 2017, Banglez cracked the Top 40 on the UK charts with “Bad”, featuring Yungen, MoStack, Mr Eazi and Not3s. His 2019 single “Fashion Week” went Top 10 in the UK and earned a platinum certification in that country.
