About SHINee

South Korean boy band SHINee, known to fans as the “Princes of K-Pop,” became radio favorites across Asia with a sound that blends R&B, hip-hop, and electronica. ∙ Pop superstar Bebe Rexha cowrote the title track from the group’s 2010 sophomore album, Lucifer, and the song spent over a year on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart. ∙ Rolling Stone named the title track from 2012’s Sherlock EP one of the 50 Greatest Boy Band Songs of All Time. ∙ SHINee won Artist of the Year at the 2013 Melon Music Awards after releasing the chart-topping double album The Misconceptions of Us, which included the smash hit “Dream Girl.” ∙ In 2016, the South Korean government awarded them the Prime Minister’s Commendation, which honors significant contributions to the country’s cultural arts. ∙ Nearly all their LPs have hit No. 1 on the Gaon Album Chart, including 2018’s ‘The Story of Light’ Epilogue, the final release to feature late frontman Jonghyun. ∙ Vocalist Taemin is also a member of SuperM, the Korean supergroup whose 2019 self-titled EP was the first-ever debut album by an Asian artist to enter at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
