The country superstar’s ninth studio album, Postcards From Texas, is out now, and it comes on the heels of Lambert’s appearance on the official soundtrack for the film Twisters. For that one, Lambert contributed the appropriately titled “Ain’t in Kansas Anymore”, putting her own spin on stormy imagery to fit her “renegade” spirit. The song plays nicely alongside the rest of Postcards From Texas, which boasts its own fair share of free-spirited runaway songs. “With turning 40 and a new record label, I felt new freedom,” Lambert says. “And with that freedom, all I wanted to do was go home to reset so I could get strong to take on a whole new journey.
