Less Than Jake brighten punk rock's sneer with a robust horn section and a wry sense of humor spiked with youthful angst. The band's high-energy shows quickly won over fans in their hometown of Gainesville, Florida, but it was their 1995 debut, Pezcore, that solidified their ska-punk sound: a jittery mix of fast rhythms and blistering brass sewn together with sugary pop hooks. That sound only got harder, heavier and faster on future albums. By 2008, they founded their own label, Sleep It Off Records, releasing material as passionate—and proud—as ever.
