Singer Monte Morgan and keyboardist/producer Harvey Miller cherry-pick the most scene-stealing elements from past musical moments such as disco, synth funk and yacht rock, deploying slap bass, keytar and electronic drum pads on tracks like 2021’s giddy “The Real Thing”. Co-produced by Sydney duo Flight Facilities, 2016’s house-shaded hit “World of Our Love” is aimed more squarely at clubby body-moving. The hyper-stylised pair even tap megastar Aussie singer Tina Arena for a ’90s-style power ballad in 2017’s sensual “A Foreign Affair”.
