About Stuck in the Sound

Influenced by the likes of Nirvana, the Pixies, and Sonic Youth, French indie rock quartet Stuck in the Sound were named after their unusual recording methods of locking themselves in the basement. Formed in 2002, lead vocalist Jose Reis Fontao, guitarist Emmanuel Barichasse, bassist Arno Bordas, and drummer François Ernie released their self-titled debut album through their own Stuck Records label two years later. After signing to Discograph, they continued their '90s grunge fascination by naming their 2006 sophomore album Nevermind the Living Dead and teaming up with Sonic Youth producer Nick Sansano for their 2009 chart breakthrough, Shoegazing Kids. Following an extensive 100-date tour across Europe, they released their fourth album, Pursuit, in 2012. ~ Jon O'Brien
