About Charly Garcia

One of the most influential figures of Argentine and Latin rock, Charly García composed many generational songs and endeavored to expand the boundaries of pop music. In the early 1970s, he co-founded Sui Generis, later playing with Por-Sui-Gieco and La Máquina de Hacer Pájaros, and between 1978 and 1982, García was part of Serú Girán, a key band in the Argentinian rock movement during a time of military dictatorship. His soundtrack to Pubis Angelical and his own Yendo de la Cama al Living followed in 1982, propelling García into a prolific solo career, during which he recorded dozens of albums in an astonishing variety of styles, from the tight pop of Parte de la Religión (1987) to the experimental indie rock of Say No More (1996) and the nocturnal electronic soundscapes in Cronicas (2007). Following the live collection 60 X 60 in 2012, he resumed recording with 2017's Random.
