With nimble flows, sharp wordplay, and a distinctly nonchalant delivery, Aystar renders the stark realities of the inner city with lethal calm. Raised in Liverpool, he began his career rapping under the name TwigDog as he promoted his earliest works through Myspace in 2010. After generating momentum with numerous freewheeling rhyme sessions, he parlayed that buzz into a Fire in the Booth freestyle with Charlie Sloth in 2016. The video only strengthened his fanbase, and that same year, he consummated his glow-up with Scousematic, a project filled with deft wordplay and blunt realism that merges the spirit of the trap with the technique of a rap classicist. In subsequent years, he collaborated with fellow London area artist Giggs (“The Best”) and fortified his catalogue with Scousematic 2 (2018) and Scousematic 3 (2021), becoming a face of North London’s Scouse trap scene in the process.
