A year is considered a long break in the prolific Punjabi pop industry. This EP arrives around 10 months after singer-composer Tegi Pannu’s previous release, Switchin’ Lanes, which is why the record is named Broken Silence. In fact, the Amritsar-raised, Australia-based star has described this new era of his work as his second chapter. Though the gangsta vibe of opener “Reloaded” implies a darker effort, subsequent tracks “Forever”, “Addicted” and “Lost” are infectious floor fillers along the lines of his signature tune “Schedule”. Pannu saves the slow dance for last, ending with the velvety R&B of “Trust Issues”.
