A sequel of sorts to the 2016 album A Weird Exits, An Odd Entrances furthers the process of unspooling Thee Oh Sees’ frenetic, tightly wound garage rock into a psychedelic sprawl. The opening fanfare “You Will Find It Here” begins with cosmic free-jazz skitters before blossoming into a droning guitar jam speckled with ‘60s-vintage organ sounds; “Jammed Exit” is a foray into tropical dub. But most mesmerising of all is “The Poem”, an acid-pop serenade that floats in a celestial fog.
