But it was only the beginning of a wildly prolific songwriting career for Dan Wilson, who has since co-penned hits for artists as diverse as Adele (the spine-chilling torch song "Someone Like You"), the Dixie Chicks (the defiant country-rocker "Not Ready to Make Nice") and Spoon (the dance-rock groover "New York Kiss").
