About Coleman Hell

Coleman Hell specialises in getting parties started with a mix of hyper-catchy pop, driving dance beats and rhythmic hooks that feel as though they could loop for eternity. Born in 1989 in Thunder Bay in Ontario, Canada, Hell made his initial foray into music as one half of hip-hop duo Burnz N Hell. After moving to Toronto in the early 2010s, Hell embraced his pop side, as on 2014’s hook-up anthem “Heat of the Night”. But it was the genre-melting “2 Heads”—a lodge-in-your-brain, banjo-blasted tune with a dance-floor beat—that became his breakthrough hit in 2015. “Fireproof” built on the sound in 2016 but turned it more hectic with explosive harmonica accents. In 2021, he and La+ch released a cover of “Hurt”, setting Trent Reznor’s profound lines about mortality against a heavy beat, and dropping in a hint of acoustic guitar as a nod to Johnny Cash’s version.
