Despite being based in London, The Clientele have found most of their success across the pond in the U.S. indie scene. Debuting with 2000's Suburban Light album, their early sound nodded to ‘60s pop bands like The Beatles and The Monkees - although this time the catchy melodies were whispered by frontman Alasdair MacLean and swaddled in a wall of reverb. As part of the Merge Records family, subsequent projects like 2007's God Save The Clientele and 2010's Minotaur have continued to earn the band critical acclaim.
