Old high school pals Ben Berger, Ryan McMahon and Grouplove drummer/producer Ryan Rabin first flexed their knack for kicking out loud, '80s-inspired yet future-leaning pop with Rabin's upbeat band. But after applying that epic disco-rock touch to Walk the Moon's "Shut Up and Dance", they branched out, brightening up the midtempo-loving Chainsmokers with breakneck EDM beats and applying a neon synth glow to pop upstarts Bebe Rexha and Halsey.
