Greasy Cafe—aka Apichai Tragoolpadetgrai—tells stories of loss and heartbreak with his acoustic guitar. Many of us may not have the privilege to understand his lyrics in Thai, which talk of human relationships, love and life, but none of us could mishear the melancholy and longing in his voice. Trained as a photographer, Greasy Cafe brings his sensitivity for framing and texture to the sonic world, creating intricate layers in epic post-rock proportions. Since moving from behind the lens to behind the microphone in 2008, he's garnered pretty much every prestigious Thai music award with his atmospheric music.
