About Symba
After a decade of grinding in the underground, Bay Area rapper Sybma’s persistence paid off in the form of an Atlantic Records deal and “Big Homie”, a popular 2 Chainz collaboration. • Growing up, the Berkeley, California, native frequently accompanied his entrepreneurial parents on business trips to Las Vegas, Atlantic City and other cities. This travel exposed him to different music and culture. • In 2010, Symba and another songwriter sued Mariah Carey and The-Dream, claiming the superstar pair’s song “My Love” was based on their own composition “Are You the One”. • After making some noise in the Bay Area, Symba moved to L.A. and earned critical acclaim with his 2015 mixtape 2 More Words. • After years out of the spotlight, Symba returned in the late 2010s. In 2019, he signed with Atlantic Records, and the following year, he released Don’t Run from R.A.P., his first full-length since 2012. • Symba racked up millions of streams with “Birds in the Bando” and the 2 Chainz-assisted “Big Homie”. Both songs appear on Don’t Run from R.A.P..
