Linda Perhacs

About Linda Perhacs

Though Linda Perhacs is regarded as one of the finest psychedelic-folk singer-songwriters of the early 1970s, and has become a huge influence on 21st-century “freak folk,” she was virtually unknown for nearly 30 years. Her lone album, 1970's PARALLELOGRAMS, while a brilliant, trippy take on the Joni Mitchell singer-songwriter template, was under-promoted, and sank without a trace. In 1998, after failed attempts to find Perhacs, collectors' label The Wild Places released an unauthorized reissue. It wasn't long before the burgeoning “freak folk” movement latched onto Perhacs as a key influence.
