Blasting through a tight set of caffeinated pop-punk for their second album, this New York quintet nail every confusing emotion that comes with lost love and bruised egos. The guitars stay on the offensive: Tyler Szalkowski's shrill licks snake around Tony Diaz's rhythmic strikes, and the two wrestle furiously on "Breaking Ground" and "Tooth and Nail". But vocalist Derek DiScanio’s stance shifts constantly, from unapologetic on fast-paced opener "Eyes Closed" to optimistic on the sizzling hand-clapper "Shape Up" to nakedly vulnerable on the title track, an acoustic ballad with Ansley Newman.
