The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to enhance psychology research is not new, most likely gaining momentum with the connectionist revolution in cognitive psychology in the 1980s. Recent advances in machine learning have placed smart AI at the forefront of emerging methodologies across numerous psychology sub-fields and at the center of debates about the roles that AI can and should play.
This special issue is designed to highlight cutting edge methodologies in psychology that employ AI as a tool to improve the quality of authors’ work.* Submissions will be accepted from across psychology sub-disciplines with special attention to those who have integrated best practices in research methods with their use of AI. Authors are encouraged to share their code or make it available upon request so that their research is replicable.
