Golden Hour actually smells good. I’ve even had strangers ask what scent I’m wearing. But more importantly: It works. I’ve tested Golden Hour both in the city and countryside, and so far I’m happily bite-free.
I can whole-heartedly swear on all the mosquitos in the world that Golden Hour works.
A bug spray that doesn’t stink—and works really, really well. My mother, who is even more beloved by biting insects than I am, wore it on a marshy family hike and didn’t get a single nibble.
We tested it all last summer and...didn’t get bitten once.

The story of Golden Hour began in Bali, where our founder encountered a strain of Citronella that was unlike anything she had tried before.
It was effective against mosquitoes, grown locally on an island in Indonesia, and smelled delicious.

FAQs
You bet! Golden Hour's performance has been tested against Aedes Aegypti mosquitoes through two rounds of double-blind testing by an independent lab. While independent results depend on your skin's unique biome, the lab confirmed an average of 3+ hours of protection time for most people. We have hundreds of rave reviews, too!
Golden Hour has only been tested against Aedes Aegypti mosquitoes. We hope to do additional testing soon to confirm protection against other types of insects.
We recommend consulting your doctor before applying any product to children, especially those under <6 months of age. For children 6 months or older, the product is safe for use when applied by an adult and used as directed. When applying to children, use the wipe to pat gently onto their skin. Do not use on the hands of children. If you have specific questions or concerns, we recommend talking to your doctor, as they know you and the needs of your family best.
We recommend reapplying every 2 - 4 hours, or as often as needed.
Use It When
Any time you'd rather not be snacked on by bugs while dining al fresco, sitting around the campfire, or enjoying an evening stroll.
Directions
Once outside, spray liberally over exposed skin or fitted clothing. Use adult supervision when applying to children. When applying to your face or to children, spray into hands first and pat to apply. Do not use on the hands of children. Reapply every 2 hours or as often as needed. We recommend patch testing on a small area of skin when using for the first time or when using in a new environment, as our product contains essential oils.
Recycling
This product is packaged with a mix of recyclable and non-recyclable materials.
Plastic Bottle
Made from Type 1 plastic, this bottle should be cleaned out and recycled curbside. Don't forget to remove the label!
Spray Pump
Spray misters are made from both plastic and metal, so they can't be recycled at home. Instead, send them to us or to Terracycle to be recycled.

AMAZING!!!
I don’t think all of the positive things I have to say will fit in this review. My fiancé’s family lives in Guatemala. I visited the beautiful and loving country for the first time last year, and I was FEASTED on by mosquitoes. This year, I searched everywhere for a natural repellent, and luckily found this brand. We stayed in multiple areas of the country, including the beach. The first day of the trip, my fiancé wouldn’t let me spray him, and he got bit all over his calves. Once I sprayed him, the bites stopped, AND it also seemed as though it healed where he had scratched himself. I didn’t get ANY bites—-until I left half a bottle at the beach house and I wanted to cry! I had to settle for a citronella spray from the pharmacy, and I got bit 6 times.
And btw, everywhere we went, people told me I smelled great!
I also used the sunscreen for face, and it wasn’t oily nor did it make my sensitive skin break out. I adore this brand. You have a customer for life!
