Simple, Easy, Good Value

I absolutely love Amaysim. They’ve perfected the basics, which is really what you’d want from a carrier. The plans are really good value. They have all the features I need like 5G, instant eSIM available, roaming plans, data rollover. The app is definitely the highlight - I’ve never had to call them, even when switching eSIM between phones, I can do everything I need to in-app. So much better than Telstra, Optus or Vodafone. It’s also secure and easy. Only downside is the billing cycle is 28 days. I highly recommend trying them out though!

Not the best

I’ve been an amaysim customer for over a year. I’ve not experienced such difficulty with any other caller carrier I’ve been a customer of in the 20+ years I’ve had a mobile phone. Being able to recharge your phone without internet or data would be my first suggestion as it becomes extremely convoluted for prepaid customers! In saying that, being on a prepaid plan, money comes out of my bank account to recharge days before the inclusion dates ie 28 days that the service includes. Also, I have experienced fraud, locked my bank card which limits direct debits yet amaysim can still extract money but I default on other payments - it doesn’t make sense! Presently, the amaysim app says I’m not registered but deducted money from my account on the 6th of February and it’s the 17th of February today! Again, doesn’t make sense! The stress and angst produced by such things when we live in a digital/online world is crippling when it affects personal security and confidence in operating online has been detrimental to my overall health and chews up an unnecessary amount of time, energy and stress! Other than that, good value for money if it was indeed as simple to do or be a customer of Amaysim.

The worst customer service I’ve ever experienced!

I am a customer of Amaysim and until recently I had two mobile phones and an iPad with them. One phone I use daily, the other one and the iPad I used occasionally.

Today I tried to rejoin Amaysim with my main phone and I wanted to keep the same number because I use it for personal and for business. The program refused to let me change the password and this is while I was on the phone talking to support. For over two hours there were constant problems from Amaysim’s end. Eventually it allowed me to change the password but then support wanted me to use another email address. All of this is in many emails that I have saved. After two hours on the phone to Amaysim support he told me it was good to go but out could take up to an hour to change over. Well the phone has changed over to Amaysim but SOS calls only. They were happy to take my money, tie me up on the phone for two hours and yet not give me phone service. I tried to reconnect the other mobile but Amaysim said in a message that something was wrong.

I have reported this to both the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman and the ACCC.
