Oh… Sorry, I try to avoid prototypes, demos and early alphas. Exceptions exist, but they’re usually really old and cancelled projects that won’t receive further updates.

So this flew under people’s radar big time.

You don’t see it coming, but this was quite atmospheric and spooky.

No hard feelings. I was actually optimistic that maybe there was a workaround that I could’ve done or an incoming fix for the game. ^^

As for, Depth Above it’s that demo of yours? I been paying attention to it and waiting for a full release. Once it’s ready I’ll try to have it on my radar.

Very engaging Iron Lung style game. The one thing I would recommend adding is a map of the metro lines and stations so that the player can make use of the photos near each station as a source of navigation. Since afaict there aren’t any other pointers and it’s a guessing game on where you’re supposed to go.

Experienced an actual game breaking bug. Upon using the ticket for the train station, I am still on the other side from where I need to be. And the ticket vanishes from my inventory.

I’ve tried to start a new game, but the ticket doesn’t come back. It’s just permanently gone from my inventory.

Game seems way too broken for right now, which is a terrible shame because I can tell it’s influenced by Cry of Fear. And I would’ve liked to play something like it again.

Don’t feel bad. A lot of indie developers don’t have the luxury to get their game validated by Microsoft.

This game released around the peak of the creepypasta era and around a period where first-person jumpscare horror was still considered a novel concept.

The stars aligned for Slender: The Eight Pages and there is plenty of proof in favor of that.

I didn’t have that issue, but I did have two immortal meat things following me around after the boss was already dead.

Why was this game taken down?

I found what I was looking for, rest assured. And I can appreciate the effort that was put into the F.E.A.R. inspired games of yours even if they aren’t up to the standards of my current curation. To this day I have intense nostalgia for the atmosphere that franchise had and what could’ve been. A more realistic and grounded take on ghost busters or something else like it continues to hold so much untapped potential…

True, people thought this was lost media. But stranger things have happened.

Does this download include a presskit? I ask because the images of the covers uploaded on here are badly cropped.

This demo reminds me of the F.E.A.R. 2 Project Origin demo with it’s shuffling of scenes. Although with Project Origin, there was also bigger differences in content too unlike here.

The CNET site download is legitimate. I tested their link and it works. Same file and everything.

Much appreciated. I was around the indie horror scene before the let’s players popularized it.

That dev has a bizarre history. Stay Still is only 1 of 2 renames that game received.

It was also known as “Sinister Within: Decay” at some point.

Juice was one of my favorites. I would suggest people find out for themselves what they like. And with the Demo Disc’s variety and creative theming there’s always bound to be a little bit of something for everyone. It doesn’t shy away from trying something different and that’s what makes it interesting each time.

Your recent releases are marked with a “prototype” status. Does this mean you intend on eventually releasing a full version or are they actually finished experiences that are merely misclassified here on Itch.io?

I ask because by the looks of things you have moved on from The Beacon’s End to produce another title. Leading to uncertainty about it’s future as well as nature of existence.

That reply doesn't acknowledge what I am experiencing. I am pressing all of the possible interaction keys on the church door and it won't let me in. And yes, it's at the very beginning.

Not sure if this is intentional or not, but in the description it says "abys" instead of "abyss". Also would this be treated as an expansion or sequel to BlueSuburbia (in technical terms)?

You should add in-game screenshots to make it easier for people to judge and be enticed by your product. The page is too barebones right now, even though the box art is sleek looking.

Keyboard and mouse. And I'm over it. I watched other people play it and determined it's a good game. Shame, but what can you do?

Can't enter the church. When I press E on the door, it just plays a sound effect of the door opening, but I'm still outside.

After leaving the cathedral area it switches into a top-down camera of sorts and the skeleton starts walking against invisible walls and the environment. Getting on the horse couldn't alleviate the issue either. I was stuck running in place.  I think it might be a bug with the intro sequence.

It's not a side-scroller in the traditional sense, there is a camera that moves around and switches perspective. Is this intended or not? Because with the awkward camera it's nigh impossible to move around.

I don't think you need to, it just needs better pointers to what you have to do. Like figuring out where the spray or broom are took a bit longer than it should. I watched Queen Faith playthrough and she didn't find them at all far as I can tell.

Unfortunately as soon as I got through a large chunk of the dirt spots I accidentally clicked on the car and it initiated a premature "I escaped" ending. So I would also suggest adding a "are you sure?" pop up so a player doesn't end up missing out on content like I have.

Needs a run button from the start. The non-linear exploration coupled with the larger open area practically demands it. In it's current state I don't see the content or reason to not have it.

Is this a sequel, prequel, demo or standalone full free version of Veranoia: Nightmare of Case 37?

Also, if it is the same game why did you choose to go with "Veranoia 1.9" as the chosen title when you already have a different one that is used on steam?

Seems like a strange choice.

The game reminded me of Funeralopolis: Last Days if it was crossed with a hint of old-school survival horror.

I would recommend getting rid of the robotic voice acting. It's commonly used and absolutely never lands for me. Just kills immersion which would otherwise be preserved well enough with the captions that are already present.

The remaining criticisms I could've had were already addressed by Niven Hedinger.

Uncompromisingly retro. I can respect that.

What's the name of the new ambient/who made it?

I would change it to stealth horror in place of action horror since that reflects the gameplay better. Good game regardless.
