Request it by mail with Form 4506-T, Request for Transcript of Tax Return If you need a transcript for your personal taxes, get your personal tax transcript. A transcript isn't a photocopy of your return. To get a copy of your original return, submit Form 4506, Request for Copy of Tax Return. The processing time and fee are listed on the form. Business transcript types We offer these transcripts for businesses at no cost: Tax return transcript: Shows most line items from your original tax return as filed, along with any forms and schedules. Most transcripts don’t show changes made after the filing date of your return. Tax account transcript: Shows changes to your account such as refunds, federal tax deposits, payments, penalties and interest, balance due with accruals, and return filing date and processed date. Record of account transcript: Combines the tax return and tax account transcripts into one complete transcript. Entity transcript: Shows information on record about your business, such as employer identification number (EIN), current name, address and filing requirements of the business. Currently available only through business tax account.
