New sign-in options We updated the FATCA Registration System with new, secure sign-in options: Login.gov – Created and maintained by the U.S. government ID.me – Created and maintained by a technology provider If you don’t have a Login.gov or ID.me profile, you’ll need to create one to sign in to the FATCA Registration System. If you have a Login.gov or ID.me profile, you’ll be able to use it to sign in. Make sure your email address for Login.gov or ID.me matches your FATCA account email address for responsible officer or point of contact. Financial institutions can register using this online FATCA Registration System. What is FATCA? The FATCA Registration System is a secure, web-based system that financial institutions (FI) can use to register under FATCA. It is compatible with Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. It establishes an online account for FIs to register with the IRS, renew their agreement, and complete and submit FATCA certifications. The FI and their branches are issued global intermediary identification numbers (GIINs). See the GIIN Composition document for an explanation of this 19-character number. How do I register? Use the system now! Register or login What happens next? A registered and compliant financial institution that has been issued a global intermediary identification number (GIIN) will appear on a monthly published IRS FFI list.
