2024 marks the 15th year of the Global Cleantech 100! Over the last 15 years, our lists have showcased hundreds of innovative companies ready to take us from commitment to action in our global struggle to reach net-zero. On every list, you’ll find the most promising ideas in cleantech – the ones best positioned to help us build a more digitized, decarbonized and resource-efficient industrial future.
To create the list, we pull together thousands of data-points, objective and subjective, quantitative, and qualitative, from all over the world. Our aim is to identify the consensus of sentiment and opinion among the international cleantech community. Our report also provides an overview of markets and trends in each of our Industry Groups from our own team of analysts.
Meet the newest companies on the list at Cleantech Forum North America on 22-24 January. When you join us in person in San Diego, you’ll network with innovators, corporates and investors taking action to create a livable future for us all. Don’t miss Cleantech Forum North America and learn firsthand what makes the forum invaluable to the cleantech ecosystem.
We hope you find the list and our full report a valuable analysis of the state of the market.

Who can qualify for the Global Cleantech 100 list?
Any independent, for-profit cleantech company not listed on any stock exchange and not a majority-owned subsidiary of another company can qualify.
What is considered cleantech?
We use more than 1,400 unique identifiers to classify companies in important areas of innovation, organized in five industrial sectors, and by a further 68 primary technology sectors. To see how our coverage is broken down, please visit our taxonomy page.
Who can nominate for this award?
Nominations are open to any market participant. If you’re interested in nominating a company, we ask you to nominate a minimum of three qualifying companies and a maximum of nine. Nominations must adhere to the ‘Lust List’ principle – meaning if you nominate your own company, or one you are part owner of, you must nominate at least two others that you admire and have no association with. Learn more about our process.
How/where/when can I nominate companies?
Nominations are open most of the year, but the deadline for each edition of the report is 21 June, unless otherwise indicated.
What should I expect once I have nominated?
We receive thousands of nominations. Unfortunately, most companies will not hear from us. We will only contact shortlisted candidates and subsequently the final 100 and any other award-winning companies during July to September each year. The 2024 edition of the list will be made public on January 11, 2024.
How can I increase my chances of getting on to the Global Cleantech 100?
We take companies from a public awards and expert panel opinion. We encourage cleantech companies to create or update their profile on

to ensure we have not missed any important public data such as past investment history or new customers or partnerships. We pride ourselves on this list coming out of a robust system, and not a popularity contest.
