Nets Daily: Joe Tsai says don’t expect an NBA China tour “Due to geopolitical situation right now it would be very difficult to bring the NBA to mainland China. But in due course I hope to see a China tour because what that reflects is a more benign relationship.” youtu.be/8znIj2ML_Vo

Anthony Slater: Here’s Steph Curry on his return from that recent combo ankle sprain. Said the first twist led to the second. “I made a misjudgment on that one because it was right away. Adrenaline got the best of me. But thankfully it was only a little over a week (absence).” pic.x.com/5SqynAPMFZ
Kemba Walker took one day after retirement to announce his next move. With the decision taken out of his hands to stop playing, he decided to stay as close to the NBA as he could for now. “Nothing (inspired me),” he joked to CLNS Media/CelticsBlog. “I don’t know why I did it.” “Charles (Lee) called me. I knew I was gonna retire, so Charles called me, asked if I wanted to be part of this. I felt like it was a no brainer, to be honest. I live in Charlotte, I’ve lived here since I got drafted here. I’ve done so many great things here. We have some great young talent. I just wanted to be around the game still, do what I can to help. It’s the closest thing to the game. I love basketball so much.”
“It was cool (seeing the Celtics win the championship),” Walker said. “Especially the guys who I was able to be there with, like JT and Jaylen, the growth over the years has been unbelievable. So to be able to play with them and see with my own eyes how much they grew to win a championship, it’s pretty special actually.”
Walker doesn’t see coaching as a career, but will leave his mind open for that to change. Pritchard smiled when asked if he ever saw Walker coaching, saying Walker probably doesn’t need the money. The commitment suits him for now as he navigates retirement, which hasn’t brought any new interests or hobbies yet. He feels like God put him on Earth to be around basketball. “It’s been easy,” Walker said. “The people around here make my days easy, my life easy. I’m just having a good time, to be honest. I’m not thinking about, ‘damn I wish I played or lasted to this season.’ It’s pretty good.”

Knicks sign Boo Buie to two-way deal
Shams Charania: The New York Knicks are signing guard Boo Buie to a two-way NBA contract, sources tell ESPN. Buie spent time with the Knicks in training camp and takes an open two-way after the signings of Ariel Hukporti and Matt Ryan.
Brandon Rahbar: Thunder have assigned Dillon Jones and Malevy Leons to the OKC Blue.
Another first-half letdown and a road trip that has gone off the rails has Davis, among others, questioning which team the Lakers really are. “We’re just two different teams right now,” Davis said. “One game, we’re this team who showcased it can be one of the better teams in the league. Then the next, we’re this team who — I don’t even know who we are. So, we just got to be better. … “We got to put a full 48 (minutes) together, and we can’t continue to do this if we expect to do anything this season.”

Joel Embiid to return Wednesday vs. Clippers?
The hope, as team sources shared Monday, is that Embiid could play as soon as Wednesday’s game against the LA Clippers (unless he’s suspended by then). He recently began practicing in five-on-five action, worked out extensively before the game against the Suns and is expected to take part in individual workouts Tuesday in Los Angeles that will set the stage for what comes next. Barring a setback, it seems likely there is an end in sight here very soon.
As it relates to Embiid’s availability and the latest round of media/fan pressure being applied for him to play, team sources say this time has been made all the more difficult because the Sixers truly believed he would be ready at the start of the regular season Oct. 23. That’s why they made so many rose-colored-glasses statements publicly about his health, glossing over the truth about the left knee problem that the league ultimately deemed a legitimate concern. In doing so, they honored Embiid’s well-known wishes of being as private as possible when it comes to his health.
Damian Lillard: “Just because it’s a 1-6 start, its ugly. But when you look at the big picture it’s such a long season. It’s 75 games left. I’ve been part of teams that have won 16 straight, 14 straight. Sometimes you just get in a ditch. Sometimes it can happen in the middle of the season, it can happen toward the end of the season, and I think because it’s happening at the beginning and we’ve got one win and six losses it just looks different. But I think because of who we have on our team – Giannis, Khris (Middleton), myself, Bobby (Portis), Brook (Lopez) – we’ve got an experienced, talented team. We can get a lot of things done.
