Patrick Beverley recently discussed the idea of the NBA experimenting with a four-point line on his podcast, suggesting the league might consider testing it in the future. Beverley believes the NBA could at least try it out to see how both fans and players would react to it. “I wouldn’t put it past the NBA,” he said on his podcast.

“They like to test new things, shake things up. They might try it out for a year, see how it works, and then go back. They could even have the G League try it first to see what happens”, the new Hapoel Tel Aviv player commented. -via BasketNews / September 12, 2024
Patrick Beverley on Victor Wembanyama: ‘He’s not a five. He’s everything. Like you can’t even put him in comparison with other people, he’s the best player in the NBA next year. He’s a center who shoots threes and dribbles the ball… Just because you’re 7’4″ doesn’t make you a center. We’re talking about guys who are centers, who come out and set screen and rolls. None of the guys that we are naming come up and shoot threes, maybe Embiid a little bit but that’s it. It’s not fair for him to give him a position. He’s an alien, he’s positionless.” -via YouTube / September 6, 2024
Beverley, who is continuing his preparations for the new season with his team, made statements about the popularity he has gained with his new team on his own podcast, Pat Bev Pod. “Now I know how LeBron feels. I’m leaving a game and the players who were my opponents a moment ago want to take pictures with me. Even the opposing coaches want pictures. I go into a game and the opposing fans boo me when the ball is in my hands. After the game, 30-40 kids come up to me all of a sudden and want to take pictures with me. It’s the same in every country I’ve been to. Today we had a friendly in Belgrade, and I must have taken at least 50 pictures after the game.” -via EuroHoops.net / September 5, 2024
