Boost Secure Connect Terms & Conditions

Boost Secure Connect is an optional service for your Boost Mobile plan to help protect your data from online threats and enhance your data usage privacy. The program is marketed only by Boost Mobile or our affiliates, but is administered and provided by a third party named Mobophiles, Inc. d/b/a Mobolize. We are not responsible for the performance (or non-performance) of Boost Secure Connect and make no representations or warranties as to its functionality or ability to meet your needs or intended purposes. As Mobolize is the sole and exclusive owner of the software underlying Boost Secure Connect (and owner of the intellectual property rights therein) your license to use Boost Secure Connect is provided to you by Mobolize and the terms of service for Boost Secure Connect are between you and Mobolize. Therefore, any dispute you have relating to or in connection with your use of Boost Secure Connect is between you and Mobolize and you agree that you will look solely to Mobolize to arbitrate, litigate or otherwise resolve any such dispute.
Your use of the Boost Secure Connect app is subject to your acceptance of Mobolize’s Boost Secure Connect Terms and Conditions as provided by Mobolize on its application and Boost Mobile’s Privacy Policy. Where applicable, your use of Boost Secure Connect is also governed by Boost Mobile’s General Terms & Conditions.
WAIVER OF LIABILITY. IN NO EVENT SHALL BOOST MOBILE BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, INDIRECT, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES arising out of, from, or related to the purchase of Boost Secure Connect regardless of the form of action (including, but not limited to, negligence) and regardless as to whether Boost Mobile has been advised of the possibility of any such loss or damage. In the event a court of competent jurisdiction strikes this Section, You agree that the extent of Boost Mobile's liability shall be no more than One Hundred Dollars ($100.00).
Boost Secure Connect uses Domain Name System (DNS) based threat protection with encryption to help protect your data usage and privacy for all network traffic, Wi-Fi and cellular. When connected to a Wi-Fi network the service establishes a secure proxy within your device to encrypt all unsecured web and application data traffic as it travels over Wi-Fi networks you use.
Security and Privacy Disclaimer: Boost Secure Connect is a program to help you safeguard your data usage with cutting-edge security technologies and proactive threat detection. While this service significantly enhances your mobile data privacy and security, it is essential to understand that no security solution is 100% foolproof. Cybercriminals are constantly developing new tactics, and the mobile security landscape constantly evolves. This service does not guarantee complete security for your data since vulnerabilities may still exist and could be exploited.
Mobolize provides Secure Connect on an "as-is" basis with no warranties and makes no representations of any kind, express or implied, with respect to Boost Secure Connect. Mobolize grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Boost Secure Connect for your own individual use. You may not sell, resell, transfer, copy, translate, publish, create derivative works of, make any commercial use of, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software. This license may be revoked at any time.
Use of Secure Connect may result in additional data charges. Secure Connect will transmit information via a Wi-Fi connection, unless it is unable to do so within 7 days. After 7 days, Secure Connect may transmit information via your device's wireless data connection, which may generate additional data usage charges, as detailed in your Service Agreement.
SMS and MMS specific Terms and Conditions: Message and data rates may apply for any messages that we send to you, or you send to us. You will receive 1 SMS message per phone number verification attempt made through the iOS version of the Boost Secure Connect App. Sign In to your Boost Mobile account or contact Boost Mobile for more information about your text plan or data plan.
What information does Secure Connect access or collect and why?
Operational and Statistical Data. The following data may be collected and stored when it is required to operate the service:
- Application ID - An anonymous ID assigned to the application at installation.
- Account Information - Carrier billing SubscriberID and/or Phone Number may be used to establish and maintain the subscription status for this service.
- Device Data - Unique device identifiers that can be traced back to you are not collected.
- Connection Data - Network data usage (bytes transferred) for the sole purpose of internal operational and performance monitoring.
- Anonymous Aggregate Usage Statistics Data - basic statistical information for customer support and service quality maintenance, this strictly excludes all sensitive activity logs or personally identifiable information.
- Crash Logs - Crash log information regarding your device’s use of the application for troubleshooting and to improve Mobolize’s application. Crash logs do not contain your IP addresses or other personal information.
- Problem Reports - Your name and email address are collected when you report a problem through the application. When you provide feedback, you can choose whether to share logs from the app. Logs can include information about your device, domains you have visited, Wi-Fi network SSID, and IP addresses. This information is used for troubleshooting and to improve the Secure Connect application. Your name, email address and these logs, if you share them, will be deleted 90 days from the date of collection.
Permissions. Certain permissions may be requested to enable the service, including:
- VPN Profile and/or Service - Depending on which features you have enabled in the application this may include DNS and Data encryption, and transmission of that encrypted data, to Mobolize’s secure network to provide you data privacy and protection services.
- Notifications - To communicate to you through the application for security alerts and subscription-based functions only.
- Phone State (Android only) - To enable account authentication and subscription status for this service. Your phone # is never shared with 3rd parties.
- Location (Android only) - To detect the name (SSID) of Wi-Fi networks, which allows the application to automatically protect the specific Wi-Fi networks chosen by you and to allow you to control which Wi-Fi networks you are warned about. No actual location information is collected or shared outside of the app on your device.
Third Party Data Sharing
This application does not sell your personal information to third parties.
