     LINCOLN, NE – Today, Governor Jim Pillen announced his appointment of Justice Jeffrey J. Funke as chief justice to the Nebraska Supreme Court. Funke has served on the Supreme Court since he was appointed an associate justice in 2016. He will move to the role of chief justice on Nov. 1, following the official retirement of Chief Justice Mike Heavican on Oct. 31.
  • Gov. Pillen Celebrates Manufacturing Month in Nebraska with Proclamation Signings in Fremont, Schuyler, and Lincoln

    LINCOLN, NE – On Wednesday afternoon, Governor Jim Pillen proclaimed October as Manufacturing Month in Nebraska during press conferences at Structural Component Systems in Fremont and Cargill in Schuyler. The Governor also issued proclamations at TMCO and Kawasaki in Lincoln this week in celebration of each manufacturer’s 50th anniversary of doing business in Nebraska. At each event, the Governor emphasized the quality and dedication of Nebraska’s manufacturing workforce.

    LINCOLN, NE – A federal request submitted by Governor Jim Pillen for storm assistance has been approved. Funding will help supplement state, tribal and local recovery efforts in areas impacted by severe weather July 31 and Aug. 1, 2024 in eastern Nebraska.

    LINCOLN, NE – Today, the Judicial Nominating Commission for the County Court Judge in the 10th Judicial District provided the following three names for consideration by Governor Jim Pillen: Cassie L. Baldwin, Hastings; Natalie G. Nelsen-Pacey, Holdrege; and Kane M. Ramsey, Kearney. The 10th Judicial District consists of Adams, Clay, Fillmore, Franklin, Harlan, Kearney, Nuckolls, Phelps and Webster counties.

  • Gov. Pillen Applauds Unanimous Vote to Change Nebraska Dental Licensing Standards

    LINCOLN, NE – Governor Jim Pillen says he is pleased with a recent decision by the Nebraska Board of Dentistry that will now help expand access to dental care across the state. In June, he asked the Board to consider changing the licensing standards, to include acceptance of the American Board of Dental Examiners (ADEX) exam. Acceptance of the additional exam will now provide a pathway for qualified dental professionals from other states to become licensed in Nebraska.
