In a published exploration for which you do not have edit rights, go to the editor, click on the top-right question mark and then "take the tour". Click through the tour. At the end the screen will remain darkened, and you won't be able to interact with anything except the navbar.

Instead the screen-darkening should end and everything should return to normal, as happens when you take the tour in an exploration for which you do have edit rights.
