Recently, audio translations were added, allowing learners to listen to audio uploaded by creators. However, it may be possible to enable automatic text-to-speech on explorations as well to provide a reasonable default. This will be an experiment and its effectiveness will be evaluated in user studies first before being deployed to production.

For now, we will only add automatic text-to-speech in English.

In the audio settings, learners will be able to see an extra language option in addition to those uploaded by the creator. This option will be called "English (autogenerated)". This should be the default language selected if the creator did not upload any audio translations. This option will only be available if the browser supports TTS and if the exploration's language is English.
