There seems to have been a change in the behavior of git_commits_ahead recently. Previously, if there were no commits ahead, there would simply be no output. However, now there is output with 0 showing up as the number of commits. For example, if +1 shows up if the repo is one commit ahead, if there are no outstanding commits, +0 shows up.
