I wonder if the domain should have been .org instead of .com since we are basically more of a non-profit organization (group) than a for profit company.

We should probably resolve this sooner rather later. Should we register the .org? I don't mind doing it.

As guldo has pointed out the domain name is already propagated on search engines and linked on many places so better keep it that way, we are a company of enthusiast contributors ;)

Thing is, we can still keep .com and just CNAME it to .org or .io, so I'm not sure how good an argument that is. We can have our cake and it eat it too in this instance.

In the end it's just a question of how long to keep the old domain for.
Also ideally we just stick with the domain we choose, so we should be sure that we want a .org domain and not anything else like .dev, .io, ...
