Description
Oracle RDS replicas have two operating modes, mounted
and open-read-only
. This is configured via the ReplicaMode
parameter of the CreateDBInstanceReadReplica
API call. This option impacts the licensing of the oracle instances as the default operating mode of replicas is read-only which requires an Active Data Guard license. Mounted instances do not require this license.
