Describe the bug
Dragging the title bar of any active window using a finger or a stylus doesn't cause the active program's window to move. However, doing the same using the mouse works.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
Tap and drag a titlebar using a touchscreen or pen-enabled display

Expected behavior
The window should move. Howver, it doesn't.

Wayfire version
0.7.0-73f9b77 (Mar 11 2021, branch 'master')
Installed from the Arch User Repository using the latest Wayfire git snapshot.

I cannot reproduce. Which application(s) have you tested with? Maybe some of them don't support touch input.

Here it works with common GTK3 apps such as gedit.

@ammen99 All of them! I've tried Firefox, Alacritty, VLC ...
I'll send you a video later today.

@ammen99 All of them! I've tried Firefox, Alacritty, VLC ...
I'll send you a video later today.

I just tried these clients:

  • Alacritty does not support touch input at all (a problem with alacritty, not wayfire)
  • Firefox-wayland seems to be buggy as well. If I run it with core/preferred_decoration_mode = client, it shows a proper GTK3 titlebar (separate from the titlebar) and I can drag it with touch only. However, if I have core/preferred_decoration_mode = server, it does not use a GTK3 titlebar, and I cannot drag it from the tab bar. Wayfire does send the correct touch events, so I think this might simply be a not-implemented-yet feature in Firefox-wayland.
  • The problem with VLC is strange though, it does work here (wayland-native). Can you record a video of it not working?

  • Alacritty: indeed, it doesn't support touch. However, isn't the title bar drawn by Wayfire? Therefore, shouldn't it at least be draggable?
  • Firefox-Wayland: I'll try that workaround!
  • VLC: it does work, but since it's a Qt4 application I have to run it with special commandline arguments (I'll show them in the recording as well)

I think have similar issue.

I cant move windows by draging their titlebar (im using server-side decorations) using touchscreen (with mouse it works fine).

This works in wayfire v0.6.0 (I can move windows), but in more recent versions (v0.9.0) it doesnt work (I can only resize windows).
