We can extend SmartDocumentor by adding plugins at Scan and Review Station level. We can also create workers that run on SmartDocumentor's workflow.

These plugins are independent of the SmartDocumentor product version. For new releases of SmartDocumentor, the backward combability is kept.

The version number also differ from the plugin and from the product version.

For each project, it is possible to create/customize a review plugin, scan plugin and any number of workers.

When a fix/change/improvement is done over the plugin, it is not necessary to update the SmartDocumentor's setup. Only the plugin files are necessary to update on the client/server computers.

New SmartDocumentor versions will be combability with the same version of the plugin. Only in very specific cases the plugin version depends directly on one SmartDocumentor version. So far, we don't have any limitation/restriction at this level. Thus, new SmartDocumentor versions will be possible be installed.
