Submitter: Derin Donmez
Im running Supercollider 3.7.2 on Win10. My help browser hasn't been working since I installed it. I haven't changed anything and this is my first time installing SC. Please fix this issue, thanks.

Likely a user-name containing a non-ASCII character... This is a known symptom of that problem. For now we can only work around by using a safe username, but it's on the todo list...

@bagong is this Windows-specific?

I am not sure. I think there is also a warning not to use non-ASCII chars in paths for OSX. And I am not even sure this is the problem for Derin Donmez, unfortunately it is not a very specific issue. And because of the way it was submitted, it is unlikely that we can ask for additional info from Derin. I made an issue the other day relating to the SCDoc problem with non-ASCII characters for Windows only, so that problem won't get lost.

@bagong that's one of these two, right?:

I think we can close this as not having enough info as long as there's a link to these

For anyone who doesn't want to read through the other issues:

  • first couple results I got when googling "Derin Donmez" had an ö in the last name, so I think it's likely they were seeing this because of their username
  • yes, it is windows-specific
