Issue found on June 6th 2018.

References(s):

Scope(s):

  • None (application is not using authentication)

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Copy your podcast show URI: https://cl.ly/0v3I283O0Y2h
  2. Follow the above tutorials under references
  3. Copy and paste your code with your specific podcast show URI: https://cl.ly/3O2Y3P1b1v3l
  4. Experience sadness: https://cl.ly/3Z2D1H2w1V0Z

Expected behaviour:

Follow button or play button for a podcast should display within webpage.

Actual behaviour:

Error message displays within iframe. It seems that the embed code does not play nicely with uri's of the type "show."
"Artist" and "user" on the other hand, work swimmingly.

Use case:

Your customers want to be able to promote their podcasts on larger sites (EX: zendesk.com)

Hey @ZenStef ! Thanks for the report. We're aware that Podcasts are not currently supported in the Play and Follow buttons. I'll post here with any updates!

I was able to implement a player for uri podcast and episode: https://github.com/andpiazza/spotify_episode_player/tree/master

Unfortunately couldn't implement the Follow Button for uri podcast
