I installed the desktop client of SimpleX on my MacBook. I played with the desktop client many months ago and deleted it later. Now - after reinstalling the desktop client - it asks me for the password of the old database which I don't have access anymore and don't want to use it anyway. I have no option to reset the app to factory state. Uninstalling it with third party tools like Pearcleaner (tries to delete any remaining files of the program beside the .app file inside the programs folder of macOS) didn't worked.
Expected Behavior
If the desktop client has been deleted, the database should be deleted with it (with the exception of manually created backups by the user). If the user reinstalls the app in the future, the desktop client shouldn't use the old/outdated database again and asks the user the connect their devices again.
Steps To Reproduce
Install the phone app + desktop client
Connect the desktop client with your phone
Remove the app on your phone and the desktop client
Reinstall both again
Setup a new profile in the app on your phone
Desktop client asks for password of the old database of this first installation

you can delete the database at ~/.local/share/simplex and ~/.config/simplex
Thank you, it worked. Still, there should be in my opinion at least instructions on the website about how to delete the desktop client with the database properly. I would prefer a option in the desktop client to reset it back into factory state with a warning that everything is deleted once it's done.

Is there an existing issue for this?
