As reported on this issue. It was not possible to expand/close directories and other operations inside the sidebar buffer on Windows OS. The (point) call when acessing the buffer text-propery containing the sidebar-item returns were not containing the sidebar-item object, but acessing the buffer (point)+1 appereantly solves the problem. It might not be the best solution, but it can be a good workaround for others facing the same problem.
This could not be a problem directly related to Windows OSs, but maybe beacuse the icons-in-terminal is not installed. This must be investigated deeply...
