Hi all,

Is there are already a way to have the "keep formatting" option enabled by default? With a quick search over the code base I couldn't find any config option or similar. So my best option in that case would probably be to just modify the HTML template to have the slider active by default. Correct?

There's no such option. We can consider remembering the checkbox state in session/user preferences.

There's already a lot of options in Preferences > Composing Messages, so I'm not a fan of adding another one.

Just to add another request for this. I do use Thunderbird for my main mailboxes but I do have a number of mailboxes that I don't want to be in the client as they are only used rarely and it would make it quite unwieldy. An extra option in Preferences would be ideal for my use as I could just set it and forget it.
