Steps to reproduce

1. Go to https://material-components.github.io/material-components-web-catalog/#/component/typography
2. Remove the margins on the headers
3. Set the container overflow: auto
4. Add a letter with a high ascender, e.g. Ü.

Actual behavior

Notice that the letter is cut off.

Expected behavior

The letter is visible
