Have the above error in v83.0.7656.6401.

Qiqqa shuts down after this.
Also not able to add annotations to documents.

Is there are more stable release I should be using?

Please try one of the v82 releases instead. (They're all back- and forwards-compatible and can be installed over any previous install, so that makes trying another version relatively easy, fortunately.)

Most releases are at https://github.com/GerHobbelt/qiqqa-open-source/releases/, e.g. v82pre11 at https://github.com/GerHobbelt/qiqqa-open-source/releases/tag/v82.0.7568-29227
