in preferences, set window size through drag corners and then lock the size again? S/M/L window size options?
pop up that stays on screen for a few seconds so you can preview what your break screen will look like? or, pop up preview but with a 'close preview' or X button

The latest version of Stretchly will disappear after the rest window pops up on Mac, and the icon in the dock bar will not disappear

Regarding preview: what specifically do you miss? The only thing that changes is color and that is visible in Preferences.
