Prerequisites

  • I searched for any existing report about this bug to avoid opening a duplicate.
  • I can reproduce this bug in a new, unmodified web browser profile with Dark Reader installed as the only extension.
  • I understand I need to use the Broken Website Report template if this bug I am reporting occurs on a single website.

Bug Description

  1. Browser address bar and hamburger menu entries text (e.g. Bookmarks) all appear as black text when Dark Reader is on.
  2. If Dark Reader is toggled off and then back on, the entire top bar becomes totally black. Combined with the aforementioned black text, this makes web browsing impossible. Exiting Firefox and reopening it does fix this though.

Website Address

N/A

Steps To Reproduce

  1. Open Firefox
  2. See the black text
  3. Turn off Dark Reader
  4. Turn on Dark Reader
  5. See the black top bar & black text

Expected Behavior

White text to be in contrast to the darker appearance added by Dark Reader, and for it to not turn completely black on toggling Dark Reader.

Actual Behavior

Black text & black top bar on toggle.
